Patrons receive auto-generated emails informing them of recalls or upcoming renewal times. However, sometimes these automatic messages can end up in a spam filter or are otherwise lost.  Patrons are responsible for their library borrowing and can see when their books are due using the "my account" feature in HOLLIS.
