Some are still there. The third floor corridors of Widener hold the card catalog that included the holdings of Widener and nearby libraries (Lamont, Houghton, the University Archives) as well as smaller catalogs for Middle Eastern scripts, Hebrew and Yiddish.
The old Union Card Catalog, which was a main-entry-only catalog for all the major Harvard libraries and used to be kept in the current Circulation area of Widener, no longer exists in its original format. It was used for the retrospective conversion of print records into the online catalog, HOLLIS, back in the 1990's and was not preserved.
There is, however, a microfilm version of the Union Catalog available in the Atkins Reference Room on the second floor of Widener.
