I received an overdue notice. Do I need to return all my books right now?
You may be able to renew your books in your HOLLIS account. Sign in there and look under My Account/Renew.
- Books which have been renewed five times already cannot be renewed again. You'll need to bring those into the library for review. You can usually check them out again at that time (in person at the Circulation desk).
- Books owned by other institutions which have been obtained via BorrowDirect or Interlibrary Loan usually cannot be renewed.
- Depending on the types of items you have checked out, you may also see a "lost item" fee show up in your account. Please rest assured that you can leave the fee unpaid; it will clear when you do eventually return the item.
Please see Book Return for more information about how to return books.
If you have questions or concerns about your library account or any books you may need to return, please email hl_access_services@harvard.edu immediately so that we can find a solution for you.
- Ask a Librarian services, including chat and email, will be suspended from December 21, 2024 through January 1, 2025. Queries received during this time will be answered as soon as possible following our return on January 2.
- If you're experiencing an ongoing technical issue when you attempt to access library materials with your HarvardKey during these times, please report it to Library Technology Services.
