New Institutional Login Methods
"Institutional Login" via Open Athens Now Available
The Harvard Library is in the process of implementing a new method of authorizing users for access to some online resources. For platforms such as the Wiley Online Library or JSTOR it is now possible to log in directly from the resource's Web site. Look for the option to "login via your institution" from the site's login options. The transition to this new system, for resources where this is possible, should be complete by the end of March 2025.
When using Harvard Library resources, chose "Harvard Library" from the "organization" or "institution" options. For some sites, you may see a "Harvard University" option, which can be used when "Harvard Library" is not available.
If you encounter an online resource where "login via your institution" does not work for you or is not available your first step should be to look up the journal or resource in HOLLIS (not the individual articles but the journal itself – the easiest way is to choose the “Library Catalog” scope, omitting articles). The "Online Access" link in HOLLIS will provide the most direct access to the resource.
