What is the Phillips Reading Room? How can I contact the staff or place a retrieval (paging) request?
The Phillips Reading Room in Widener is for the use of non-circulating material recalled from offsite storage or borrowed through Interlibrary Loan. From Phillips, staff retrieve materials for authorized library users who do not have access to the stacks area.
It is also a general quiet study space and reading room, as well as the location of Widener's self-hold shelves and overhead scanners.
The reading room can be reached via the stairway in Widener's Circulation area on the first floor. You can contact Phillips staff at 617/384-9421.
