Where can I find a camera or voice recorder that I can borrow?

The Lamont Multimedia Lab, in Lamont Library, has cameras and other equipment that can be borrowed for 24 hours, as well as used in the Multimedia Lab.  They also offer consultations, workshops, and classes.

The Cabot Media Studios, in the Cabot Science Library, has equipment and space available to make high-quality audio and video files.  They also offer consultations, workshops, and classes.

Lamont, Cabot, and Wolbach libraries have a variety of equipment available for loan, ranging from laptop chargers to cameras; information is available on the Tech Loan page.

Instructional Media Services in the Science Center has equipment available for borrowing.  According to their site:  "Official Harvard College student groups (those listed with Harvard College's Student Life) and Harvard College students can borrow projection equipment, sound systems, and an HD video recorder with tripod free of charge (late fees apply for equipment not returned on time).  Free equipment is available to Harvard students on a limited basis for use on the FAS campus.  Additional billable equipment is available for students at a 50% discount."

If you were looking for a voice recorder, consider that cameras often have great sound on them, and you can just leave the lens cap on or change the video to an audio file afterward. We can show you how to do this in the Multimedia Lab in Lamont, on Level B of Lamont Library.
