Printing in FAS libraries

How to print:

  • To print from personal laptops: use Crimson Print.
  • Desktop computers in the library:
    • Select the printer (location is in the printer name) when you initiate the print job on the computer. Then go to the printer area and swipe your Crimson Cash card on the monitor, then choose your print job from the list.
      • Widener: desktops in Atkins and the Circulation room print to any Widener public printer.
      • Lamont: desktops in the Cafe and on Lamont Level B print to any Lamont public printer.
      • Cabot: desktops in the library print to the library printers station on the first floor.

How to pay for printing:

  • Single sided: $0.05 (b&w), $0.15 (color)
  • Double sided: $0.15 (b&w), 0.16 (color)
  • Crimson Cash is the way to pay for printing from a desktop to a library printer. Money can be added to your account from the Crimson Cash site.
  • Crimson Print is replacing PaperCut as the method for printing from a laptop in late December 2019.

Where to print (printer locations in libraries):

  • Widener Atkins Reading Room, second floor (b&w and color)
  • Widener Circulation Room: print from photocopiers (b&w)
  • Lamont first floor near the center staircase (b&w) 
  • Lamont Level B, reading room area (b&w and color)
  • Cabot Library first floor (b&w)
  • Most FAS libraries (except special collections) have black and white printers.

Service Alert:
  • Ask a Librarian, including chat and email, will be suspended from 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, through Monday, January 2, for the holiday break. Any questions received during this period will be answered beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
