I need to do some research in Middle Eastern Studies. Where do I start?

KEY DATABASES

MECAS (Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies) (Harvard login) indexes research, policy, and scholarly discourse on the countries and peoples of the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa. Some material dates as far back as 1900.

Index Islamicus (Harvard login) is an index of of publications in European languages on all aspects of Islam and the Muslim world.

Index to Jewish Periodicals (Harvard login) is an index on Jewish history, activity and thought.

FURTHER GUIDANCE

The Encyclopaedia of Islam Online (topics in Middle Eastern and Islamic studies) and the Encyclopaedia Judaica (all aspects of Jewish history and culture) may be helpful. (Harvard login required for both)
